C12 kick back and spitting in carb

My c12 when kicking over kicks back also engine revs up and down then settles and dies any pointers would be appreciated

I suggest checking the spark timing, and cleaning the carb, and checking the fuel flow from the tank.

sounds as if it is too far advanced on the timing . If its starting though it might not be far out. If it has points try turning the points plate in the direction of rotation . Also make sure the points are set at the correct gap .
