Advice please good people
I struggle to find neutral on my '64 A65B engine when the bike has been on a run. Any ideas please?

This can happen if the clutch is dragging a bit.

This might seem extreme, but I'd recommend a 7 plate clutch conversion to anyone.

Thanks for the replies but being non conversant with BSA's (or anything mechanical ) what course of action should I do please?

The first thing to check is that the clutch mechanism is properly adjusted. To do this, completely slacken off the adjuster at the handlebars first. Then remove the inspection cover towards the back of the primary cover which allows you to get at the adjuster in the centre of the clutch pressure plate. You need to slacken off the lock nut and then gently screw in the adjuster as far as it will go making sure there is still free play in the clutch cable at the handlebar lever. Once done, unscrew the adjuster 1/2 turn and carefully tighten the lock nut. With the cable free play set using the handlebar adjuster, try the clutch again to see if the dragging and the difficulty of selecting neutral has been overcome.

If this doesn't sort out the problem, it may be necessary to take off the primary cover, undo the four nuts in the clutch pressure plate to allow you to remove the clutch plates and to inspect their condition. Hopefully, this won't be necessary..
