B31 dynamo, magneto removal

Hi there,
Bought a non running b31, and trying to remove the dynamo/magneto to inspect it. Besides the strap, it appears the gear is the only thing preventing things? How is the gear removed?

You need a proper puller to get the pinion off, part 61 1903, about £12 from ebay sellers.
