Hi there,
New here, likely buying a 48' B31 this weekend. Have had many bikes over the years but never any of this age. Anxious to see it  in person, $2200 seems reasonable for a pretty complete and original example however does not run. Looking forward to sharing it with you as things progress.

Looks a good un :), You even have a seat for every occasion on  the wall behind ;)

Best wishes...

I wish we could buy a B31 in that condition for the equivalent of $2200 in the UK>:(

Well as I said it isn't running so I really don't know what I'm getting into and seller doesn't have any history on it as he bought this way.  Parts seem to be available but where on earth would one find a really nice chrome fuel tank for example?

 :) :) :)
There are several tanks on Ebay. Cant find any your side of the pond. You could look at item No 362302432999 Its in the UK. I've dealt with this guy with sound results.

I don't think that tank will fit his B31.

From his photos it looks like the same one as on my 1948 B33

Checked ebay, found this from India. Anybody try one? Thoughts? Is the notion repulsive? Of course the price is attractive.

Forgot to mention, one of the big concerns is the wire harness. Described as a mess. Are they available?

wiring harness is easy . There aren't many wires I always make my own on the bike . As for the indian tank there are good suppliers and not so good . Ive got one from royal choppers off ebay and it is very good .
