Hi,
Can anyone give me the length of an early M20 field stand please? My M20 is fitted with the short pre war civilian prop stand that I really don't trust unless its on flat solid surfaces (although its nice to have it on the bike) and I thought a field stand would be a safer bet. Its the horizontally mounted stand with the pivot behind the saddle mount. I am also looking for the details of how the clip fits to the lifting handle/stay - or a complete stay if anyone has one.

Performance Engineering Services make field stand kits for the WM20, so may be able to help you. For some reason I can't post a quick link to the item on their website, so just type Field Stand into the search box.  HTH

All the stands I seen on various sites are the later longer versions, fitted from 42 I think? when pannier frames were introduced and the stand clamp and clip were repositioned. I've got a later stand but its too long to mount horizontally so before I estimate the amount I need to shorten it from photos I thought I'd ask if anyone had one they could measure so I can cut it to the exact length.

Speak to Mark Cook at PES. He does make both types. Ron

It doesn't take much looking to find all the other parts.
