Mounting a Boyer Power Box and Phazon on a C15

I'm now installing the electrical bits and pieces on the bike. Once the coil and horn are in the original position on the cross bracket, there is insufficient space for the two non-standard addition of a PowerBox and Phazon. Before I get into fabricating a load of complicated bracketry it crossed my mind that I cannot be the first person down this road. Can anyone who has fitted similar additional components come up with nice neat way of doing it - that they can share?

Whilst I haven't fitted your additions to my C15 , I wonder if you could extend the head steady flat link forwards
Rear end on the P clip coming forwards to bolt to the triangular head steady and long enough forwards to mount the 2 boxes

Rhyatt - I've just been looking at that idea - and I think I could mount the horn underneath the tank on an extended head steady flat link - or on a second P bracket. That should free up enough space under the seat to mount the two boxes on a rubber mounted tray. Bit more measuring to do but it could be a neat solution.

I installed a Boyer Power Box on my SS80 quite a few years ago (going back nearly 30 years now). I was living outside the UK (without the bike) at the time so I installed it for battery-less running to avoid issues with battery degradation while I was abroad. While it took a good solid kick to generate a good enough spark for starting (and the lights had to be switched off for starting or it wouldn't!), it worked well enough, even to run the lights at tick-over (well, just about, they could be a bit flickery). It directly took the place of the battery on the battery tray and as the Pazon box is tiny (at least it is on my wife's Triumph) you should have plenty of space, I'd have thought.

Is it that you're trying to run the Boyer Power Box with a battery as well which is why you lack the space? If you must have a battery, I'd suggest you might get away with a really small, e.g. moped battery piggy-backed on top as the BPB should be up to the job by itself.

I converted my A65 to run batteryless.  It powered the Lucas RITA fine and like your C15, there was enough to power the lights on tick over. I fitted a very large capacitor - about the size of an ignition coil. I got the spec from Lucas who were very helpful. It too took a decent kick but it was actually easier to start then with a flat battery.

The idea of being able to run a road bike without a battery had never occurred to me. I need to research this - I thought it was some black magic used on trials bikes.

My victor B44 had a boyer power box.
But from memory I needed to remember to turn the lights off before I started it.
In their 1 box , it contained reg , rec and -once running - fed the lights as well.
It worked very well

I think its Lucas 2MC, there also an Electrex Powerpack capacitor.
You can get Lucas 2MC equivalents for about £30, they go in place of the battery.
