I am currently in the process of overhauling my engine but I am confused when I strip the clutch as the parts book shows a collar part number 65-3833 behind the clutch sleeve which is part number 42-3107. However my clutch does not have this part but in its place is a copper or bronze sleeve about 2 inches long with a few holes drilled in it. I have read elsewhere that 65-3833 was used on B31 and M20 six spring clutches and on A10 up to 1959.
Clutch has been working perfect and the only reason I have taken it off the bike is because a piston circlip became loose and scored the barrel so I have decided to take the engine apart and clean out the sludge trap. So the question is: Should I have the part 65-3833 which I understand is referred to as an oil slinger fitted to my 1960  A10 swing arm bike? I suspect some responses will tell me to dump the 6 spring clutch and replace it with a 4 spring one as fitted to later models but I have been happy with the performance on my 6 spring item.

Just looked in the parts books for A10 and Gold Star and both show it with the 6 spring clutch. So my advice is get one and see what it does.
