Hi all
B31 circa 1955 ish, Question relating to gearbox oil level .

With the bike as level as possible on main stand,

When i removed the oil level plug a small amount of oil drained out, about half a cupfull, is that now at the correct level or do i need to add oil?.

Had thought about draining completley and refilling with specified amount but currently cannot find the drain plug?, would much rather do this than just leave old oil in it.

Really awkward working with bike at ground level when your older.

Any tips please.

Mark

Hi Mark,

Did you get a workshop manual or owner's handbook with your bike?  If not, it is really worth getting some.
They show where drain plugs etc are located and the oil levels required as well as a lot of other useful stuff.

Hi,

There is quite a lot of information in the Members' Area of the BSAOC website and it is always worth having a look on youtube as there are some very useful videos of most jobs to do on a bike.
