Dear All,

This is a kind of a follow on from my other thread which is becoming a saga.

I Previously bought a Concentric carb for my C15 only to find that it didn't fit. It had a different larger bore and mouth than the original monobloc.  SO I returned it and gave up on the idea.

However it seems that Hugh Ferrier (on You Tube) uses a Concentric 622 carb. SO I am wondering if I just bought the wrong size.

Is it actually the case that a 622 will fit without having to modify the battery box?  What is the difference between the LH and RH variants?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the battery box, but LH and RH refers to which side the tickler is mounted.   This is so that in a twin carb engine, you can have one of each, so the ticklers are both accessible.

btw,  I fitted a 1 1/16 amal monobloc to my C15, but had to bore the inlet port out from 7/8th, and fit a Gold Star inlet valve, with the stronger valve springs.  Also had Phosphour Bronze inlet valve guide made and fitted.

The original C15 is 7/8" bore inlet port , which will have a 375 monobloc   to have a smooth pass for the gas whizzing from carb to inlet valve.
A concentric 600 series must be of the nearest metric equivalent to 7/8".
So if there are 25.4 mm to 1 inch , 7/8 equals about 22mm
So a 622 concentric , with suitable jets.
Ring Burlen in Salisbury to discuss.

Okay, thanks!   I'll do that

I seem to remember that the Choke is an option on the concentric.  Should I go for with or without?

Gosh!   On top of that there is a Mk 1 version and a MK 2 !

Personally , I'd have a choke assembly , lever and cable
