So I got my rewound armature but due to constant bad luck,  I ordered the correct one and it was labeled correctly but alas it was wrong on one end I ordered a MO1L but I got  MN OR A MS1 or something without the points drive cutout , anyway they sent me another end cap but it doesn't have the condenser frame /holder and that as the threaded bit up the middle 😕 , I know they should be sorting this but it's not easy on the other side of the world , I found a second hand rotor from aussy  cheap ,but im not  sure  as it was advertised  with end cap not attached,  the MO1L has a square recess and the other one has rounded ends , and its been potted with the capacitors , different screw mount as well , anyway can someone advise about the wire that goes into the slip ring should that be trimmed to have say 1-2mm of extra length to get good contact and let the wire bow down ? Cheers

Hi,
I don't know if this is any help but there is a section covering the maintenance of lucas magnetos in section L5 on the following link

The HT spike should slide under the copper of the slip ring. If you look closely you should see a small trench - try sliding the spike into the slip ring and you should see the spike appear in this trench of the slip ring groove. As you push it in further it should start to slide under the copper. Slide it in as far as it will go and then it should become fairly obvious how much you need to trim off. Make sure you scrape off any lacquer from the HT spike when the armature was rewound.

Thanks I will look , but I think the wire on my MO1L goes into the slip ring boss that goes into the hole on the drive end . Ive also had trouble because Dragonfly sent me the wrong rewound armature from s MN or MS1  ? so it had the wrong points end , they sent me the MO1L end but now I have to sort the capacitors and the insulators for the old condenser frame/holder that has the boss for the thread that's all potted into a different shaped recess , I've tried emailing them twice but no reply now , a bit disappointing  looks like im going to try warming the end cap to soften the epoxy and try to carefully remove it and make it fit the MO1L  recess the epoxy that in  i also might have to solder the mounting screw attachment   , and then attach my coil wires  i think the original condenser was a 464161 . Cheers

I'm pretty sure the Lucas Slip rings are all pretty similar - so I'd be surprised if the HT spike was attached any differently. As far condensers are concerned then I've found that the Bright Spark items are excellent and I have these fitted to most of my Bikes. I cannot picture what the problem is with your armature, but earlier MO1 magnetos used a ring type points cam the same the K series rather than the cam plate fitted to the later items.

I'm on Holiday from today so I will not be able to send any further info till next Friday.
