Following my recent posts on no oil returning, out of desperation I took my expensive new hepolite oil pump apart only to find the two gears in the pump were missing. So the oil must have been dropping straight through into the sump. Now I ordered through an engineering company in Durham and I don't have the receipt. This is NOT the fault of the place I ordered it from in fact he is very helpful and has provided me with some excellent advice. It was still sealed in the hepolite packaging.  I will take this up with Wassell, although I have got it working with the gears from my old pump lapped into the new pump body. In fact, it works really well. I know I should have sent it back but catching the engineering company with the shifts I work is quite difficult, and I just wanted the bike on the road. I know these pumps get good reviews but make sure whatever you order is complete.
Anyway at last the bike is up and running again and I have just done my first 20 miles of running in with no problems

Good news now, shame it was so traumatic to get there.

Hello,
I am installing a new Hepolite oil pump on a 1958 B33 and the pump does not have the usual Oil Pump Ball 65-2593 or the retaining clip. The ID of the intake spigot is not large enough to accommodate the ball from the old pump.

Did your pump have the ball and clip included?

I am wondering if this pump was shipped unfinished, or they have just decided to forgo the ball valve.

Thank You

With all of the quality problems which seem to be occuring with the wassel pumps why are people not buying tge srm pumps instead. If nothing else they are a fair bit cheaper!

Sorry. Got mixed up with the thread i was replying to. There was a manufacturer in Holland that made cnc pumps for singles.⁹

There will be better pumps later this year, but not cheap.

If you are looking for a quality oil pump you could get one from ABSAF in the Netherlands.

I don't know what they cost but they won't be cheap.

The first new hepoite pumps i bought dint have the pick up spout or ball , they were all fitted with no problems at all ,and still working fine to this day ( keep fingers crossed )  then latter the spout/ball was added , i did strip pumps before useing as i was so curious on how well they were made ,and i can say the gears and tolarances was spoton , but i saddened to hear of the recent problems shown up .
