Having been down the powder coating and professional spraying route with my last project (another marque of three letters starting with a B) I really would prefer to paint this C15 myself.  That being the case, I'd be grateful for any advice.  I'm a dab hand with rattle cans and a brush, but a bit lost after cellulose disappeared....

It seems that rattlecan acrylic will not withstand petrol spills etc, so the tank needs to 2K. And as the tinware needs to match the tank, then the tinware needs to be 2K. And the main issue with applying 2k is ventilation and PPE. I have good PPE and tend to do spraying in the garden shed in summer, so I think I can work around that. I shall keep it simple with non 'flamboyant' colours. I'm guessing 2k is best sprayed in warm dry conditions?  I'm sure I have seen somewhere selling 2k rattlecans mixed to whatever colour desired. I have no idea what paints have been used previously on the bike - does that mean I need to get it back to bare metal then use a 2K primer?  Or will 2k stick as long as I knock the gloss off and get a smooth finish?   Does 2k paint always need a lacquer?

My tank has the chrome side panels - which are unfortunately beyond recovery. I'm guessing I need to wet and dry these smooth, deal with the rust spots (Kurust?) and then etch prime. Simonez does a 'polished metals rust protection etch primer' but it doesn't say whether it is compatible with 2k paint.

Can anyone recommend a paint for the frame and forks? If acrylic is not up to the job, would enamel be next best?  Are there any top tips for getting a great finish with spray enamel? Does compounding work with enamel?  Or would I be better going for 2k on the frame?

Cellulose is still available in rattle cans. You just have to search for suppliers on the net.

My local paint place will mix me up paint and put it in an aerosol tin.

I bought from these guys when I shot my B25 tank Nutley Blue. No complaints.

Have had a few gas weeps around the cap when riding with a full tank and no issues.

You can use rattle cans on ever part, then use petrol resistant lacquer over the tank.
