White Lithium

Does anyone use White Lithium grease instead of Wellseal on gasket surfaces? I saw a you tube rebuild on an American site and they swore by it.

What you use on a gasket depends on what type of material the gasket is. Some gasket types are dry fit only. In such a case I did use Wellseal and it was almost impossible to separate the barrel from the crankcase. the residual gasket material was also incredibly difficult to scrape off.

On carb manifold gaskets I always give them a smear of grease, I have never had one leak past.
