Hi all,
Does anybody know where to get the correct ferodo copper rivets for the BSA/Triumph Conical front brake linings. They are part number 19-7467, 3/32" dia with a 19/64" dia head. I've tried most of the usual suppliers but no joy.
Cheers Jim.

There are a number of brake rivet stockist on the internet.

Below is a list of British Standard rivet sizes from an old Ferodo catalogue.

Thanks for that Julian. Great information as always.
I thought I had cracked it when I bought some G4.5 rivets off ebay but when they arrived I found that the heads were bigger than the ones removed from my original old shoes, so wouldn't fit in the pre-drilled new old stock Ferodo AM14FF linings that I have. It's as if BSA had special rivets made by Ferodo that had a G shank diameter (5/32) but with a F head (0.295"). The old rivets are even embossed Ferodo on the head.
I suppose I could modify the new rivets that I've bought, or even open up the counterbore in the new linings, but I was hoping that someone somewhere had a stash of of rivets under the old BSA part number that would go straight in.
Cheers

Have you considered having "Classic Brake services" reline your shoes?

They might just do the shoes, I know they bond and rivet them and they do a good job.

On my lightning, they skimmed the drum (which was 0.040" out of round) then fit oversize shoes to suit the drum. The braking on that bike is on-par with the original asbestos shoes.
The shoes on my OIF Thunderbolt are the original factory ones, set-up properly with long B50 levers (and most importnatly - B50 cable which has a longer inner cable to suit the longer arms) it is a really - really good brake, you ideally need a fork brake to stop the front end twisting under heavy braking.

Thanks for that Allan.
I'd previously used a local brake specialist to bond undrilled Ferodo AM14FF linings that I got from Pat Arnold many years ago, but he's started to get a bit nervous about handling linings with asbestos so he stopped doing it and I had run out of my stash of linings anyway.
It was only when I saw the original pre-drilled linings for the conical hub for sale on ebay that I thought I'd have a go replacing them myself using rivets.
I think I've now managed to identify the correct rivets for the job. They're not the G4.5 5/32" dia rivets that I originally thought, but are in fact F4.5. Looking at ebay photos of nos original Morris minor shoes, you can just see the letter F embossed on the rivet head. It looks like Ferodo in their wisdom, have fitted 9/64" rivets into a 5/32" dia hole, which is confirmed with the information posted by Julian and more careful measurement of the old rivets removed from my old shoes.
I think that I've been lucky not to have a conical hub that's either been badly worn or out of round, so I've not needed to have any skimmed. However, I have used longer arms, (2" between centres) that I make myself using the old cams with stainless arms. It makes for a truly excellent  stopper all my four conical bikes, even on my rather heavy T150 Trident.
