Hi all,

I have most of a set of pre-war girder forks for my 1940 WM21 build. The steering stem has four threaded holes on the base, which I'm informed are for a plate that guides the damper rod. (Later models have a threaded plug that slots into base of the stem itself.) Does anyone have a picture or measurements for one of these plates or, better still, one to sell?

My regards,

Dr P

I'm not 100% certain, but do a search for BSA part no. 25-5241 (description 'Steering damper Bottom Plate'). The ones that seem to be available would require the 4 holes marking from the bottom yoke then drilling and countersinking to suit. HTH

Hi Ian,

Thank you; you're a star! I've been scratching my head trying to guess what this part may look like. It all makes sense now. And Draganfly have them.

Happy Christmas

Thank you for your reply.  Just one note of caution... The repro ones may NOT be as thick as the originals, so this may cause a problem of not having enough thickness to fully seat the countersunk screws. You could perhaps use 2 plates if this is the case etc..  HTH
