Hi All

As anyone got a diagram of the original external oil filter showing position of washers, spring and seals?

Cheers

There is a diagram in RR Vol. 2 but I can't reproduce it here for copyright reasons.

The diagram shows that on the inlet pipe that pokes down into the centre of the filter there is an O-ring at the top followed by a large washer followed by a circlip.

The diagram then shows there to be an O-ring between the retaining bolt head and the bottom of the filter bowl. Inside the filter bowl at the bottom is the spring followed by a smaller washer, an O-ring, a large washer and then the circlip uppermost.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Spaceman, this is how mine is assembled, does it look right?

Cheers

The attached shows the correct configuration of the components:

Thanks Spaceman, is the spring in the diagram conical shaped? ie larger at the top than the bottom, as mine is?

I seem to remember it was conical on my B25 but diagram is not that clear although it looks as though wider end is probably at the bottom - that bearing against the bottom of the filter bowl?

Okie Dokie, thanks for all the help, oil changed and new filter fitted, all working well.
