hi guys .i need some advise .after my recent rebuild of my 1960 c15
im having bad spark & backfiring issues. i fitted a new coil & condensor
during rebuild .but on rechecking theres practicly no spark. so i can only presume i have a faulty coil
or condensor. i cant replace the points as i cant find a set that fits only naff copies
so i cleaned the face /s up and to be fair look ok
it will start eventually but runs eratic..& backfires when you crack her up
and now its cracking me up.any advise guys
cheers ian :'(

Backfire suggests timing is out or auto advance not functioning correctly.

Poor spark - consider spark plug, HT lead, plug cap, points, battery condition and all the electrical connections and the ignition switch.

Try wiring direct to the coil from the battery.
Also may be worth checking the earth sometimes looks OK BUT RUST stops a good contact.
I have a good wet battery FOC if you are near Staffordshire.
