I am thinking of buying a pressed alloy number plate for the rear on my 65, however the front numberplate would still be stuck on numbers. I had a look around and can see that Triumph curved numberplates are available for the front but have not found ones suitable for a 65.
Will the triumph ones fit and be the right curvature or are specific ones available available to fit on the 65 numberplate backing?

Hi, I used these people recently and they are ok, although the plates seem to be a bit of a 'composite' make up.   https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-Pressed-Motorcycle-number-plate-SILVER-FRAME-9-x-7-HEAVY-DUTY/124341526908?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I had mine done 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 which more or less fitted the number plate light fitting, but I'm not sure that is a fully legal set up.

Anyway, it's an option that you might want to look into.

I wish I could remember the bloke at the Classic Bike show who made a plate for my Velocette..... It was brilliant. (Hopefully someone will be along who knows his details....)

Hope you get a successful conclusion Bruce...

Hi, cant comment on your specific query about the front number plate, but I've just got a new rear plate from Tippers and am very pleased with it. They were very helpfull on the phone in determining exactly what I needed for my '66 Lightning so suggest giving them a call.

I have bought car and motorcycle plates from Tippers and have always been happy with them.
