DAVE BRADY

Hi,

I have not stuck to originality on one of my A65s with a twin lead coil replacing one of the standard coils and the regulator/rectifier replacing the other.  the oil filter in the more usual place underneath on the back the engine plates.

Well, I have a confession to make, I had to revert to a modified version of the lovely alloy brackets for mounting the coils. (Shorter  and more rigid...)
The big problem was the side panel limiting the position of the nearside coil..... Not sure why... Possibly a bit rubbish, although they don't look too bad.....

Sorry about that Dave- and everyone who has been helping me......

However, all is assembled and I have even managed to cable tie the Boyer ignition module outboard of the offside coil.

Re the Reg/ Rec, I'm thinking of making a bracket (yeah I know, yet another shiney bracket) and mounting it on the rear steering damper bolt so that it is facing forward, below and behind  the lower fork yoke.

It'll be in the air stream, which I believe is a necessity for these rectumfriers..... (I've had a couple of em blow on my 1989 VFR750....)

Regards deviating from original, that doesn't bother me too much with this build.

As for the smaller battery, I'll run LED bulbs and be careful not to operate the horn too often (sorry to any peds who fail to hear me shouting....(Mind they'll all have to get used to being smacked by 'silent and deadly' electric cars soon enough anyway.....))

What's the correct battery for the 1965  A65 lightning (if there is such a thing) and what battery did you use Taffyboy?

I'll use a Glass Matt Technology battery- after looking at how the Venom's rubber exide lead acid sprouted leaks, and sulphated through all the cracks.....

Thanks again for all your help folks..... I'd be stuffed without it.

Best regards,
Dave.
