Hi all,I have a 1963 Gold Flash of which I am nearing the end of  restoration, I want to restore it to near the original colour of Nutley blue. I have found a company that would mix this colour but my budget doesn't stretch to their prices. I've read that Skoda medium blue is a close match but I can not find that anywhere. I wonder if anyone could recommend another colour available in aerosol cans that would be acceptable. I was also pondering about using a metallic colour blue and wonder what your thoughts might be about that?

If your going for a metallic then you might as well pick any blue you like as it won't be anything like the nutley blue. I've seen various shades of nutley blue some quite pale and some a richer colour, the factory weren't known for getting a good match on the same bike so look at cars going by and see what you like the look of.

If you do want a nice colour,

Spray the panel silver (I used ford moondust silver) then 3 laters of Peugeot Miami blue. Then the best lacquer you can find. The colour is really nice and the lacquer pulls the silver through. These were Hycote double acrylic paints, they leave a really nice finish.
