C15 Head Washer

Hi,
Rebuilding head on 1960 C15. The washers under the 4 head nuts are copper. Is that right as I thought they'd relax?

Hi Rick,
           They should be steel 3/8" x 3/4" 2.75mm thick. This thickness will spread the load reducing the chance of the gaskets leaking.
