A50 carb Mikuni or Amal

before I start the strip down, just wondering the feeling regarding the 1969 A50RC ditching the Amal carb for a Mikuni TM?
in the trade I can get Amal at a reasonable price and my Triumph uses a pair of Wassels with good results,  626/7 seems to be the recommended carb but as its in from America it has the Mikuni TM fitted.
