Can the silencer baffles be removed from a B175 silencer. I've removed the end cap and copper sealing rim but the central bolt and first visible plate seem solid. Is there a knack to getting it moving or it is best just to flush with petrol and clean as best as one can - leaving everything in place?

Just a really good ride (not easy this time of year) with the right 2 T oil etc and the correct ratio.
Get it nice and hot will clear it out as good as anything else

It's surprising how clean the bantams actually can and do run.
My D7 s show a barely there blue haze , smokey at 1st after starting and after 20 or 30 miles , clean up nicely , I'm on standard cheap 2T mineral oil and use the 4 measures on the cap , so I think 20 or 25 to 1.

Some original silencers were made which could be dismantled but as with many patten parts they tack welded the baffles into place, so you might have one of those.

Some people clean them out with caustic soda but it is not good on the chrome so you have to be very careful and protect yourself as its not nice stuff.

How to do is on the web and youtube I expect.

Hello all.

Sorry if I'm Hijacking this post but I could do with a little help. I have a Bantam D3 with  a replacement D7 engine, I have just changed the ignition coil, but is there any updated wiring diagram for the charging system, I believe it has an old D3 wiring harness and should have one rotary switch at the headlight for the charging and lights, it looks like it has a resistance wiring going to the switch, I have replaced the rectifier with a solid state one.

Thanks in advance for info on this.
