Early oil pump

Hello,
Hoping someone here can help as I can't seem to find information online or in the books.

It is an early type pump. I'm just hoping someone can let me know the direction the oil pump turns when looking from the drive end, please. Is it clockwise or ant-clockwise? Seems to turn OK one way but stiff the other way.
