B31 (1954) - how to fit side stand?

Hello,
For what it is worth, I have fitted on of those clamp on side stands, and in the past they have invariably slipped. Mine lies under the GB, and places a strut across the underside. The spacer on the engine bolt is replaced to provide an anchorage, and the inner part of the sidestand clamp remade as part of the arrangement. I hope the pictures show the gig. This has produced a immovable stand, with the load spread across the bottom of the engine. I'm sorry, there is some flare in the picture, but hopefully the GA is clear.
RSL is a rigid, but I don't supose there's much different there.

will try and take a pic when I get back off holiday.  I suspect it is possibly not the correct stand, or I am being very dull and fitted it badly!   
It does fit on the left hand side?  Just checking....
