Failure to start

I have a 2023 Gold Star, which has been parked in the garage for several weeks. As a result, the battery was completely flat. I have gently recharged it and it is now showing 13.6 volts. However, when I turn on the ignition the cooling fan comes on, and when pressing the starter there is only a repeated clicking from the general area of the starter, but it does not turn the engine over. The headlight comes on but none of the other lights function, but as I remember when I last used it, the engine needs to be running.
Can someone with a better understanding of electrics than me (which is probably everyone), suggest what I should do next? I would like to remove the fuse for the fan to temporarily stop it, any suggestions which one this is?
TIA

I'd say the battery is goosed. What is the battery voltage when the ignition is switched on? Less than 12volts i'd be looking to replace it.
Batteries last from anywhere from 6 months to 7 or 8 years. I just replaced the battery on my CX which was only a couple of years old.

Do you have a multimeter? If so -as mentioned - check voltage with nothing on (12.6 ish) and then watch the meter when you turn the key on, ?? And finally watch the volt reading when you press the starter.

I don't know how long it was on charge for but give it an overnight charge and try this process again.

Basically , if after all this overnight charge,  if it drops below 10.5v when pressing the starter button , the battery is finished

Modern batteries don't seem to cope well with going complete flat.  You may be able to recover it by taking it off and connecting it to a smart charge on a recovery cycle.  This can work but from  experience the battery will only last after recovery as long as its used every few days.
A simple check is to make up some thick leads and connect a car battery in parallel, if everything works you know its the battery.

You really need to get the battery tested with a load tester, checking with a multimeter will only tell you the voltage and not the capacity it has to provide power.
You need to remove the battery and take a trip down to your local battery specialist, not Halfords, and get them to do a full capacity test on your battery.
Gel and AGM batteries do not respond well when they have gone flat and I suspect you may well need to purchase a replacement battery.
Please come back with an outcome as I am sure you wont be alone going forward.

You've reminded me, I found that gel batteries really don't last if they go flat. I now prefer standard type, they seem to cope better with occasional use.

Wotcha.

Like folks have said, battery voltage doesn't mean the battery is any good.

This was the battery from my A65

Hello, is there any prognosis or update to your problem?

I would say a new battery is needed as well.   How did you sort the problem (given that you probably have by now)?
