Thanks to TTJohn, who has let me have a Starfire that needs a bit of fettling . . . . .a project to be taken slowly over the winter.

I have started work on the bike.
Is there a good source (or sources) of spare parts in the Celmsford or greater Essex area?
Can anyone recommend on line sources?
I would much rather use good, well tried suppliers, even if it costs a little more.

What do I need?
Potentially a primary chain (I've not yet looked at the adjuster)
The compression is low, so, worst case scenario, piston, rings, rebore
Gasket set
The rubber, battery retaining strap is perished, so that needs replacing.

Externally, paint, polish, transfers; I can source as needed

Thank in advance

There are some well known online BSA parts suppliers (Burton Bike Bits, Dragonfly, Feked, etc) with most parts readily available. Unfortunately, there are not many spare part shops still open that you can buy over the counter.

Hi,

It is always worth trying C&D Autos.  They do not have a website so call them or email  01564 795000

I have never had any dealings with C&D Autos but must have passed close to them on Wednesday going through Henley-in-Arden. Next time I visit Stratford-on-Avon or Warwick, I'll make sure I pop in and see what they've got in stock.

Ive used C&D and TMS for over 30years, Draganfly for the past 15 years, Burton for a few, but nowadays ebay seems to have a lot.
Around my area we have lost a dozen classic dealers and more modern dealers, you have to shop around . If you need something , a google search for the part number from the parts book, make lists as p&p adds up. I often find ebay listings come with free p&p now wheras places like Drags charge £6.50 minimum.

you might find that with the new BSA's being imported, there may be newer parts arriving as their dealer network gets bigger.

Kidderminster motorcycles do email/internet stuff, but they also have a shop that is open six days a week where it is possible to walk in and purchase - regrettably, nowhere near Chelmsford!
