Hello all
Does anyone know a of anyone who can straighten a footrest for me?
I'm in south Lincolnshire so ideally someone close to me would be good
Thanks

Hi,

How badly is it bent?  Can you post a photo?

Dave.

I straightened my right footrest recently by putting a steel tube over it and just applying pressure. Mine was bent up by a few degrees as a result of knocking the bike over. You might need an assistant to keep the bike from moving, but it was not difficult. I did not need to apply any heat. Obviously you need to remove the rubber.

Hello
Thanks for the replies.
I've got the bike stripped at the minute for a bit of a refresh and its a job I wanted to do before I put that bit back together.
It looks like it's been drilled for some reason and then a bit of weld.
The photos don't seem to show much of a bend but it is bent forward

Hi,

As mentioned it should bend back that small amount without heat providing you can hold it in a vice.
The hole is bit of a puzzle but it may be worth getting it welded up as it could prove to be a weakness.  Perhaps when getting it welded it could be straightened whilst it is hot.

I'll give it a try, with the extortionate price of buying another one I'd rather repair!
Thanks the replies, will let you know how I get on
