thrust washer orientation

Hi all,

I am re-assembling my 1968 Lightning and am not sure of the orientation of the attached bushing side thrust washer.  Specifically, can anyone speak to whether the flat/smooth side faces out or in?

    Oil grooves facing the crank, so the face in the image against the crank.
