1960/61 C15 fork stanchions

Your thoughts and comments please.

I bought a new pair of stanchions for the above. The taper on the top protrudes through the top yoke about 2mm whereas the "original" ones were approx 2mm below the surface. The small diameter of the taper is 1.187" on the original but 1.171" on the new ones, hence the protrusion. I apprecaite I can face them down to sit as "originals" but the bike will sit slightly lower on the front - not that it's critical.

In addition, almost all the forks I saw for sale were listed as 20-3/16" long but the originals are 20-3/8". Does any ne know what the correct dimensions are please?
