Yes, I get NGK B7ES from a local motor factor.

I squirted some oil into the bore and the compression raised from 75 up to about 90psi

Has anyone explored BISK plugs.
I've heard they're good and a good heat range.

Quote from: Andy Kay on 17 Oct, 2026, 12:49 I am currently using the NGK B7ES with no problems on my 68 Victor Special.
As for carburation, it's a minefield, the owners handbook gives different jet sizes and needle position to the workshop manual. The jets and throttle cut out alters for every year model and is different to the B44 roadster.
On top of all that the jets and needle position actually in the carburettor didn't match exactly to any of the information given.
Even so the old girl runs fine.

Thanks for the input Andy.  I would gladly try the B7ES however, they seem to be rare without resistors. I ordered a couple from Amazon, and what arrived was BR7ES. I sent them back. Does NGK even make non-resistor standard plugs anymore?

Hi,

This is on a parallel shaft so no taper.  On the gearbox shaft it is the taper that holds the clutch centre on. Light lapping and a sharp tap on assembly fixes the two tapers together.  It is this that needs a puller and some effort to release it.

Timing alignment on a two-stroke maybe, which I assume this isn't. Spraying dry lube sounds like a recipe for disaster.
The key prevents shock loads from breaking the taper hold.

Any oil squirted into the bore via the plug hole will momentarily  seal the rings if they were the culprit.
Always hold the throttle wide open when doing a compression  test.
As already said,  check the valves
I've you get an increase in compression  psi with the oil , then the rings/bore may need attention
If there is no improvement  with the oil, then the compression  is creeping  past the valve seats and a regrind will sort that
