I must confess that I found it quite difficult to decide exactly what to do about my Sloper valves.
Ultimately I thought it would be quite foolish to pay a fortune for just two valves so I have just ordered a batch. They will be 'pulse plasma nitride' and I guess that they will come out at about £37 ea plus insured postage. So having a batch made is really a sound way forward and hopefully save someone else a lot of hassle and expense. If it doesn't work out--tuff.
Thanks to all for advice encouragement and assistance. I have a pair of 'big bore' chevvy valves if anyone wishes to try that route????
I don't have a ready date at this stage.
