Title: Grimeca 4LS brake
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 06 Sep, 2020, 20:01
I have a Gimeca 4LS brake which has what look like hard green linings.  It works but not as well as it should at lower speeds.  I am thinking of trying a 2 and 2 set up with on side hard fade resistant linings and the other with a standard road lining or one of each in each side.  The idea is to get the best of both.  Has anyone tried this?

The brake was playing up, i took it to Alan Cambell who relined it with Ferrodo AM4 linings i think i also had it skimmed, not sure if stan ever used it but Alan was a braking Genius this was around 1990

Hi Paul,

Stan did a lot on this bike from 1990 to 1999/2000.  Possibly not much braking as the linings are not that worn.
The AM4 is the green racing lining which is why it does not work too well under normal use.  Is Alan Cambell still going as I think I will get it relined with a road lining.
