I guess this question has been asked many times but I'm in the process of stripping a 1966 A65 Hornet engine. The barrels are seized solid to the pistons. I've put release oil down the barrels (and I believe there has been some down there for a while). Up to now I can't get any movement at all. I would appreciate any advise on how to proceed with this.
apparently coka cola is a good unseize fluid.
otherwise its a piece of plastic/wood and a hammer
where are the pistons now in the boars , top , half way etc
:) :) :)
is the engine still in the frame.. If not---Put a rope around the cylinders and hang them up. Just a couple of inches above the ground is fine. Then use a wooden block and a big hammer. What you'll actually be doing is knocking the engine off the cylinders. If you just try to hammer them in situ you'll only be fighting against the crankshaft.
OR Pour a drop of petrol on top of the piston and set fire to it. Not both cylinders at the same time.

if the pistons @halfway down the boar and engine still it frame no problem but you need to get to the end of the crank , primary side , fix and apply a load to the crank and hit top of pistons with a hard wood drift , it will move and you wont have to set fire to the bike .
Thanks for all the suggestions I have loosened it now using a mixture of WD40, 3 in 1 oil and light machine oil gave it a tap every hour or so using a heavy hammer and a sawn off broom handle after 24 hours of that treatment it became loose,

Brilliant and thanks for up date

A penetrant like Kroil, PBlast or Liquid Wrench would help a lot.
But it's done. Good job.
