Good afternoon Anglu,

Welcome to the Forum.  It may be worth joining the BSA Owners Club as there is an extensive library and a Tracker expert for you to consult.  Details of membership are at the top of the Forum.

What bike is considered a "tracker". I live in the colonies here in Texas so it might mean a different type of sport in the UK. Here a tracker is a bike with no brakes front or rear and only turn left on the dirt tracks. I have a 1956 rigid frame dirt track bike and would like to get information regarding engine setup. Thanks, Lloyd L

Hi Goldstarman,

I think it is safe to say that the 'Tracker' was a last ditch attempt by BSA to launch a small bike on to the market.
It used a re-badged Yamaha engine that I think had been used in the NVT(Norton Villiers Triumph) Rambler.  This could have been the evolution of the Bantam if BSA had sacked the management.
If you google it you will find many images and information and as it is recognised by the BSAOC as a BSA the Club has a Tech. Consultant for it and the other small bikes from the same period.

Dave.

The Tracker. BSA introduced July 1979 discontinued in September 1987, according to Glass's Check book.

Thanks for clearing that up. I can say I have never seen such a bike here in the USA. More BSA knowledge absorbed. Lloyd L
