Title: C15 Sump plate studs
Post by: Singleton on 10 Jun, 2017, 21:22
Does anyone have any tips on how to stop oil dripping from the sump studs.
Its only one that does it but it does it a lot.
Tried new studs with gasket sealant but still drips.

Are you sure the oil is not coming from the sump plate to crankcase joint due to distortion of the in tin sump plate?

Try a copper washer under the nut if it is leaking down the stud..

Hi Calvin, My 1960 C15 as a chain lubricator on the rear stud could this be your problem, you should see a small grove in the bolt housing, if you put a ordinary bolt in there it will leak, the bolt you need comes with a small plastic pipe, you should be able to get one from Dragonfly.
