Title: A65 choke /fuel advice
Post by: Gordonh on 07 Aug, 2020, 18:08
Hello, my A65 has a single concentric 930 Amal carb. The  bike starts, revs and ticks over fine,it has very good throttle response all whilst choke is on, take the choke off and it dies.Carb has been cleaned and looks spotless.Jets checked and cleaned.two small holes in carb are clear. The air screw is at 2 and half turns out, it seems to have little or no effect  when turned a full turn in or out.Could anyone advise me on needle setting and any other problem I may have missed. Many thanks.

 :) :) :) :)

Worth checking---I think you should have a 928 carb. So maybe the larger orifice is making it run weak. Just a thought

Have you seen this from Amal.

If your carb has a bushed pilot jet it may be blocked.

Pilot jet re checked and partly blocked/restricted,filed out to correct size and cleaned with carb cleaner, problem solved. Thanks for you replies. Gordon.
