Title: K2F Magneto contact replacement
Post by: Richardson on 07 Aug, 2020, 15:57
Hi, can anybody say what replacement contacts and high tension pickups plus brushes, I need to order for the Magneto on my A10 G/F 1954 plunger model,  K2F. AC  42111B   10.52 are the markings on the mag, I'm not certain which ones to order, regards Rich

Depends on which contact breaker assembly  fitted to your mag because the 2 complete assemblies interchange.

Earlier mags had a brass base contact assembly like the first photo which takes points like the second photo.

Later, from around 1959 Lucas introduced a steel base assembly like the third photo which takes points like the last photo.

Hopefully you can see the part numbers on the boxes. You dont get the washers shown in the third photo with pattern points so if you have these be careful to save the ones you have.

The brass assembly is more the robust of the 2 but a bit more difficult to adjust the points gap.
