Title: A65 Brake Shoes
Post by: Kevev on 04 Aug, 2020, 07:40
Hi all,

As a rider of both classic and modern bikes I am fully aware of the limitations of 1960's drum brakes.

I also know that if you spend a bit of time and care and utilise a lathe you can get them to work reasonably well.

I would appreciate your advice on buying new brake shoes. Who makes the best ones? Where can I buy them?

Thank you.

The full width twin leading shoe brakes work quite well.

For best results I suggest use original servicable shoes and get them relined by a specialist with a suitable material.

Some of the new shoe sold dont look as substantial as the originals and the sellers dont tell, or more likely dont know what the material is or what its charactaristics are.
