Can anyone tell me where I can get a cotter pin that is for a motorcycle and not a push bike .I seem to remember years ago that you had to fettle a new one to fit .

Hi,

SRM do an oversize cotter pin.  Part of the problem is that the kickstart levers and shafts are getting a bit worn and even new levers are a poor, sloppy fit so even new cotter pins cannot do their job properly.

Hi,
    Try here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Specification-Made-BSA-Kick-start-shaft-Cotter-pin-57-2704-02-2579/261894948813?epid=1354187530&hash=item3cfa27c7cd:g:0KAAAOSwv0tVXFi1

Or oversize, also fits BSA:

 :) :) :)

I've found that the rpolem I come across is not too slack, but have to make them smaller and slightly reshape the machined surface.
