Title: C12 forks and top yokes
Post by: Clitheroe kid on 24 Jun, 2020, 10:05
This is my first contribution to this forum, so be patient as I'm not too sure what I'm doing.
Having recently purchased a 1957 C12, it eould appear that it's a mixture of other odels. ( which honestly, I'm not too bothered about, so long as it's runs and is safe.
However, the front left hand fork seems to be locking up, so obviously the forks need to be sorted.  I've looked at other c12 forks on the various "for sale" averts, and the forks for sale seem to be different to the ones fitted to my maching.
My forks are all chrome from the top cowl downwards, the top yoke has a locking mechanism, and a couple of munting points for the "D" type speedo.  I've changed the oil, and the stuff that came out of the left fork (the faulty one)  seemed emulsified
My questions are twofold:
1) how do I define which are the correct forks, and yokes
2) can anyone recommend an engineer in Lancashire who can repair the ones I have here?  Any assistance muc h appreciated.
