Title: A50 long layoff
Post by: Mike Farmer on 19 Jun, 2020, 19:48
 :) :) :)

My 1963 A50 has been leaning against the wall(naughty I know) in a shed for the last 17 months. It is fitted with a check valve in the oil line. I fitted an in line oil filter today, so I thought give it a try.

Turned the fuel on and it promptly flooded-- stuck float. Turn the fuel off quickly no need for a tickle

3rd kick came instantly alive and ran well. Oil flowing properly and no drips. Lovely cept I cant get on and off the poor ol'gal'.

But we'll see in the next few days.

I take it the filter is on the return side and not the feed side?

Yep. Check valve on the feed side. Filter on the return,
