Hi all the benefit of your vast knowledge and experience required once again
I have just refitted the front wheel on my SR and there is movement in the plate locking tab & groove (tls)which allows the plate to move back and forth
Is this normal or should it be a snug fit with no movement ?

This normally happens with age. The lug and groove wear. This will cause a tapping noise when you brake. If it annoys you get a piece of thin shim and fit in the gap.
