Your bike has very good provenance. It belonged to Jerry Fiford, a very successful racer and member of the now defunct South London Branch.

Thanks Editor,

I have come to know Jerry since purchasing the bike from Cosmo. How did you know it was Jerry's bike just from that photo ??

Jerry is a really great guy,  and very generous too.

He invited me up to his home, gave me a box of spares,  and we just missed meeting up at Ardingly and Ace Cafe Brighton Burn up last year. I live in Brighton so am lucky to have a lot of nearby motoring events to attend.

I also tried to make contact with the bikes owner previous to Jerry ( Don Hiscock, members here may know him ? ) - who sadly  had passed away in 2018  -

his widow Carol sent me a lovely letter, and said Don would be pleased it had gone to an appreciative owner.

Thanks much  for taking the time to respond to my post,  and lets hope it won't be too long before we can all  enjoy our bikes

Matt

Jerry contributes regularly on another forum IKBA.co.uk and had mentioned he had sold it to a dealer. Your post on here, telling us of your purchase of the bike, from a dealer was very soon after. Bearing in mind they are rare bikes and the dealer isn't a million miles away from Jerry, I put 2and2 together. Based on how pleased you are with the machine, it was obvious who the previous owner was. He knows how to look after his bikes!
