Hello all
I took delivery of a set of the long fork shrouds for my A10 today from Burton Bike Bits. The shrouds feel really good quality and they look superb.
However, when I have offered them up they won't go onto the bottom yoke!
I have measured the distance across the yoke and it's 51mm, the slot on the shroud is more like 48mm.
Could anyone offer any thoughts on this please?
I've had the yoke powdercoated so it may well be the thickness is causing the issue but I'm not sure.
Does anyone have a non powdercoated yoke that they could measure please?
Thanks
Martyn
Hi Martyn,
I hope this helps:
Here is a set I have, it will be too small to fit as is. I measured the wider diameter of the shroud to ensure it would fit over the yolk and oil seal holder, and with fettling helped it fit. I did notice one side of the yolk was open further than the other so it might be worth checking they are both just open enough for the stanchion to be a sliding fit.
Best wishes...
Thanks Bess
After talking to Burton Bike Bits I went back to it and have managed to fit them, they were pretty tight and I had to almost press them on but they fit a treat. I think with pressing them in like that they have formed slightly to the shape as they can be removed and refitted a little easier. All good now though and I'm really happy with them.
I've also bought some of the fork seal holders from Burton too and boy do they feel good quality and heavy when compared to what was on previously.

Hi Martyn,
Thanks for the feedback.
I've had mixed success with fork seals in the past and have a need to replace my A65 and A10 this summer, with that feedback I'll order from Burton this time.
Best wishes...
Hi Bess,
I think they are a bit more expensive than the eBay ones but they screw on really well with no rocking etc when fitting and the chrome is really nice. I'm well happy with them.
