Title: extra inline fuel filter
Post by: GAMBOLE1 on 28 Apr, 2020, 11:04
Hi I am posting this for my brother who has a 1959 A7 ss. he thinks he heard a while ago that an inline fuel filter can be fitted between the tank and carb to give extra protection for cleaner fuel, if so is there a kit that can be purchased or is it something he dreamt about lol, I wont be offended if anyone says its rubbish, Many thanks Bud.

You can buy very cheaply plastic (or metal) inline filters with what looks like a paper element inside to fit into the fuel pipe from the tank to the carb. Clear plastic ones are good as you can see if bits are collecting inside it. Just got to get the correct size diameter to fit into the fuel line.
I have one fitted on my B40 as the tank was very rusty inside and I wasnt sure if I managed to clean it all out.

Hi
I've also fitted one to my B40. You can get them in different colours and the little ball is a magnet to catch any rust etc. They're very cheap on ebay, easy to fit and easy to remove.
