Title: PVC oil tubing
Post by: AdrianS on 25 Apr, 2020, 11:44
Just a quick question

Can Reinforced PVC tubing be used for the oil lines to and from the engine?

the A10 has black rubber reinforce hoses, Im looking into stainless braided with posh fittings instead of jubilee clips.
the T100 has clear reinforced pipes, I have noticed today on firing it up the oil returns not as a constant stream but with a series of bubbles. I think its probably air line tubing

Isn't that normal behaviour due to the scavenge capacity side of the pump being higher than the flow? When checking the return to the tank and the flow is constant for a while, I know it's been wet sumping to a degree.

So the answer to the original question is "yes"

 :) :) :)

I would suggest that the most important factor is the oil pressure rating of the pipe.

I would go for braided , clear or rubber of a decent make as the heat can affect poor quality rubber and will let the oil pipe bulge after a while
