Post by: Talisker on 22 Apr, 2020, 16:09
I seem to have a constant drip of oil from the rec counter adaptor (68 0585) does this have a seal on/in it?

The seal is an O ring which fits in a recess on the engine side of the adaptor.

You will find it in the 1968 parts book page 24 item 7 part 68 588. Check your odd O rings you may have one which fits.

First photo shows the adaptor and O ring. Some pattern adaptors have a larger diameter recess than the genuine which can make it hard to find a suitable O ring.

Second photo page 24 from 1968 parts book.

I use silicone between the adaptor and timing cover.
