Title: Priming the M33 lubrication system
Post by: Rog1 on 18 Apr, 2020, 13:23
I removed and cleaned out my oil tank, and removed and cleaned the gauze at the bottom of the engine. Before I start the engine, do I need to prime the system in some way? What about during an ordinary oil change?

take out the screw spring and ball bearing in the timing cover and turn over the engine until oil is pumped out. Replace and then kick a few times to get oil through to the crank. Replace spark plug and go. You can put a finger over the return in the tank for a few seconds to force a bit more oil to the rockers.
For an ordinary oil change there will probably still be oil in feed pipe to the pump from the tank.
cheers
Pete

Thank you Pete C, that's spot on.
