Title: side stand.
Post by: johnjag on 30 Mar, 2020, 15:39
Hi all - now finished my Spitfire and it looks superb. However one thing bothers me. When on the side stand the bike leans over just a little too much for my liking, making me think the arm has bent over the years. I have thought of straightening it out but although I have straightened bent footrests when cold I have never done it to a side stand - do I need to use heat?
Thanks
John.

my A50 leans over too far on the side stand, main cause is the bracket is loose on the frame and slightly rotates., as the bike has to be stripped for respray I will look at pinning or fitting sa bolt in place.

as for straightening heating up is best otherwise you could end up snapping the stand.

Thanks Chaz - I have looked at the mounting and all is ok. So I think I will get the blowtorch out!

Have you measured the length of the side stand?
